...you're in the right place. Because there usually is.
Look, in today's world, there is no shortage of information. There is no shortage of data, dashboards, frameworks, podcasts, keynote speakers, consultants, books, blogs, or AI-generated opinions. Most organizations aren't suffering from a lack of information. They're suffering from something much more fundamental.
They struggle to consistently make better decisions.
Not because people aren't smart. Not because they don't care. But because making good decisions is harder than it looks.
Over the past three decades, I've had the privilege of working alongside executives, operators, marketers, analysts, finance teams, franchise organizations, entrepreneurs, and boards of directors. Together, we've wrestled with questions about growth, pricing, customer behavior, marketing, operations, capital allocation, experimentation, and strategy.
Some decisions worked remarkably well. Others failed spectacularly. Sometimes the data was wrong. Sometimes our assumptions were wrong. Sometimes we asked the wrong question. Sometimes we measured the wrong outcome. And occasionally...
"The truth was there all along. We simply didn't recognize it."
That realization changed how I think about almost everything.
Organizations don't become exceptional because they collect more data. They become exceptional because they develop Decision Capability. Like every meaningful organizational capability, Decision Capability isn't something you buy. It isn't something you install. It isn't something you hire. It is built. One decision at a time.
Just as manufacturing capability is built through the discipline of Lean and continuous improvement, Decision Capability is built through the disciplined practice of Decision Integrity.
That simple idea became the foundation for everything that followed. Eventually it led to LiftConductor. But software was never the destination. The discipline came first.
LiftWorkshop exists because disciplines deserve a home. Not a place for endless opinion pieces. Not another echo chamber. Not another website pretending certainty where uncertainty exists. A place where thoughtful people can slow down, challenge assumptions, and learn to see their organizations, and their decisions, with greater clarity.
This is where I'll share ideas that have survived practical application. Some will come from projects that worked. Others will come from mistakes that taught me far more than success ever could. You won't find exaggerated claims here. You won't find unnecessary complexity masquerading as sophistication. And you won't find conclusions that can't withstand scrutiny.
What you will find are principles, observations, frameworks, and practical lessons drawn from the messy reality of using data, analytics, experimentation, and experience to make difficult decisions.
You won't leave impressed. You'll leave thinking.

Those moments matter. They're often where meaningful change begins. Not because someone gave you the answer. But because you finally saw the question differently.
My hope is that every essay in LiftWorkshop does three things. It helps you see something more clearly. It encourages you to reflect more deeply. And it inspires you to act more intentionally.
Enlightenment. Introspection. Inspiration.
Not as ends in themselves. But as the beginning of better thinking. Because better thinking leads to better decisions. Better decisions, practiced consistently over time, compound. They become habits. Habits become disciplines. Disciplines become capabilities. And capabilities change organizations.
